Treatment options
We offer a wide range of dental treatments, from routine dental care and hygiene appointments to restorative, orthodontic and specialist treatments, helping support your oral health at every stage.
Implant-secured dentures offer improved stability and function, a more natural appearance, and health benefits like preserving your jawbone. As they fit securely this eliminates the issue of slipping or discomfort often associated with traditional dentures.
The number of implants you will need to secure each denture in place will be outlined in your treatment plan and dependent on your dental needs. Dental implants are made of titanium; and once inserted, they replace your missing tooth root: a process which can be completed under local anaesthetic. The implant will need approximately three to six months to heal and integrate with your jawbone to provide a solid support for your replacement teeth.
Temporary replacement teeth (dentures) are usually fitted at the same time as your implant placement, which will stay in place until the final restoration appointment.
Once your jaw has healed, a small connecting component called an abutment will be fixed to the implant to hold your replacement teeth (dentures) in place. Abutments are produced in titanium, gold or porcelain, and can come as a standard fit or crafted specifically for your smile. These options offer a range of aesthetics results, depending on your requirements.
Your final implant secured dentures are then fitted on top, to replace your missing teeth. Your dentist will carefully match the colour of your dentures to replicate your natural teeth.

After my first visit to Aherne Dental Clinic, I can honestly say I'm looking forward to going back. No pain, no gain, but at least in every other respect, my visit will be a pleasure. Tony Aherne, Gillian and Amy are so lovely.
Very happy with implants from Anastasia and cleaning from Ciara. Would have no hesitation in recommending
I have been going there over a year now and I always feel that extra bit of care is taken with my teeth. Anastasia is a fabulous dentist very thorough and explains everything in detail. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Always a good experience Gillian on reception is lovely to deal with.
